The BBB warns you to watch out for a variety of text message scams that are making the rounds.
Each one promises a $1,000 gift card from different businesses including Target, Best Buy and even, the BBB.
Don't fall for it! It's a phishing scam. It even has a new name "smishing" which combines SMS text with Phishing.
The goal of these scams is identity theft. They lure you in with an attractive offer. When you click on the link, your smartphone or computer can be infected with viruses that will steal your personal information.
The best thing to do is to hit DELETE without clicking on any links.
Remember, if it sounds to good to be true, it is!
